Hi! My name is Demi and I founded Holistically Chic to help those struggling with their weight and/or health, to lose the confusion about food with all these diets and learn to feel great in their skin by simply eating real food.
Having been a nail technician for 10 years with a crazy schedule, my eating choices had become pretty poor and inconsistent that I found myself at the heaviest weight I'd ever been with a lack of energy and motivation.
At the age of 16 I lost my father to lung cancer. But cancer wasn't the only thing in my family. High blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, among other ailments were around. Knowing this and only being 24 and overweight I knew something had to change. I wasn't going to wait for genetics to run my life, I wanted to be in control.
I decided to try a vegan lifestyle and immediately was feeling better than ever! Having lost 20 pounds in four months simply by changing how I ate, I knew there was no going back. Since then I've been on a mission to keep learning and to help others understand how to eat by removing that diet confusion. Being healthy doesn't mean beating yourself up at the gym, drinking endless shakes, and taking a handful of supplements. It all stems down to what we eat. My mission is simply to help you understand your ingredients and make better choices when it comes to eating and habit change.
